SWF IS NOW OFFERING:
LESSONS FOR YOUR HORSE & TRAINING FOR YOU!!!
Are You Looking for a Little Horsey Help?
Has the winter mud put you or your horse into a funk? Or do
you have a young horse that needs to be started so you can do some trail riding this summer?
I enjoy helping owners learn how to work with their horses.
I feel that it is important to start from nose to butt. Brushing, tacking, leading, and lunging are important building
blocks for riding.
FOALS:
I have a lot of experiences working with foals and believe
that a great begining is everything. I can help you learn how to handle your foal from birth and on up. I don't believe in
imprinting but I do believe in handling. (Remember that those first few hours belong to your mare, she deserves them after
all that work! and she will be nicer when it comes time for your turn.) Both you and your mare will need to teach your
foal where its limits are. The first year is an important time, and setting a good foundation on ground level will lead to
a smooth transition to back level.

STARTING:
I offer traning assistance to owners that maybe a little over
their heads when it comes to a youngster. I want to help YOU train your horse. Remember it is your horse and I can't
be there every time your ride so you will need to know how to handle the horse and the horse needs to know how to handle you!
RIDING:
I am an experienced rider and would be happy to work any horse
you throw at me! I love challenges and know my limits. That said, I start from the ground up even with horses that are already
being ridden. Missed steps can lead to misunderstanding in the horses eyes and that leads to confusion and frustration and
often acting out. And again I want you to be there every step of the way so I can pass the reins right over.
LESSONS:
Begginer and follow up training. At your place with your horse
or at my place with mine. I love helping people learn how to ride and I specialize with kids, yes, even teens! Lessons with
me aren't boring and they are not easy. I will teach you how to halter, brush, tack-up, lead and lunge the horse. And all
before you ride. This gets people comfortable with the horses and allows me to assess natural skill and comfort levels. NO
PONY RIDES HERE! I expect all of my students to be able to do all of the work with little to no assistance within a couple
of lessons!
RATES:
- $25 per individual lesson w/ own horse, $30 w/ mine
- $200 per month per horse, 3 times a week
- $30 per individual training/ evaluating session
- Group Lessons at discounted rates.
TIP** I Always suggest
getting lessons atleast once a month with an instructor no matter what your riding level is. This helps fix bad habits before
they become established and will help build your riding abilities. It is good to ask for a "task" every lesson so that
while you are riding between lessons you can incorporate it into your routine, challenging both of you!
